We work with you to understand the challenges, and if necessary, initiate a replacement search. Your satisfaction, and the success of the match, are our top priorities. Because of that, we guarantee your satisfaction with your nanny placement for 60 days and if you are not happy, we will repeat the placement process with a new nanny 1 additional time for free (inside that 60 day window).

Yes, besides the agency placement fee, you will need to factor in the following expenses:

• The employer portion of Federal and state taxes (figure approx.10% of the nanny’s gross pay).
• Payroll company fees ($40-100/month) Once you are signed up with MFN we provide links to reputable payroll companies that specialize in domestic employees.
• You will need to pay your nanny guaranteed hours for 52 weeks/year unless they take unpaid time.
• When your nanny takes vacation, you may need to pay a fill-in/temp nanny’s wages.
• Are you offering benefits? Long term nannies typically get benefits that include paid holidays, sick days, and a health insurance stipend.
• Are they going to be driving your child in their own vehicle to activities in the community? If so, you may need additional auto insurance to cover them. If using their own, you would also need to pay mileage at the Federal rate. NOTE: it is important to factor transportation of your child into your nanny agreement as being able to “get out” is beneficial for your child’s development (Like library reading times, parks, etc.) and long-term retention of your nanny.
• One last consideration—cash on hand for your nanny to use for outings and supplies for your child’s care.

We ask for this small fee to cover the initial costs of ad placements, background checks and administration. This fee is not an additional cost; it’s a down payment toward your final placement fee, ensuring that every dollar you invest contributes directly to the successful connection between your family and your care provider.

At Michigan Family Nannies, placement fees range from 15-25% of the care provider’s pay as indicated in the family’s signed agreement with their nanny or newborn care specialist. It is also determined by factors like the length of the contract, level of care, and whether it’s a full or part-time position. A comprehensive fee schedule provided early in the process provides a transparent look into pricing. minimum fees are applied for each level of service.
